This is how aligning your chakras can grow your business

As the Face Yoga Expert, a yoga teacher and relaxation therapist, working with the chakras has been part of what I do for around 17 years now. But I’ve been particularly drawn to dive deeper into the chakras in the past few years, especially since I completed my Reiki I and II training.

The more I tune into certain chakras and work to bring them into balance, the more I notice that my business grows and scales with ease. So, in this post I want to show you how balancing our chakras helps with business growth.

There’s a lot to cover here, so I’m just giving you a starting point – some quick and easy techniques you can use to start tuning into each chakra.

As we move through the sessions, we look at each of the chakras in turn and work with them to release blocks around money, tap into your creativity, and achieve your business goals.

In the meantime, use this post as an introduction to how aligning your chakras can help you grow your business.

1. The Root Chakra

The first chakra is the root chakra. Located at the base of your spine, this chakra is associated with the colour red.

In business, the root chakra is all about your mindset around money. Many of us have blocks when it comes to inviting money into our lives. These blocks can come from experiences in adulthood but are often rooted in the stories we heard about money in childhood.

When we release those blocks and our relationship with money is good, we feel abundant, grounded, and settled. This is when we start to move away from a scarcity mindset and attract more money into our businesses.

Start by closing your eyes and bringing your focus to the area at the base of your spine. Breathing deeply through your nose, visualise a red light bathing this area and bringing with it a sense of being grounded, rooted, and stable.

Repeat the affirmation, “I am grounded”, three times as you continue to focus on the root chakra.

2. The Sacral Chakra

Found between your belly button and your pelvic bone, the sacral chakra corresponds to the womb space in women but is a powerful area for other genders too. Whether you identify as a man, woman, or non-binary, working with the sacral chakra helps you to step into your femininity and connect to the divine feminine.

When we’re in this space, we embrace the ease and flow of our feminine energy. In business, this helps us to make decisions and sell our offerings from an easeful, flowing place.

Balancing the sacral chakra also helps you embrace a new paradigm for how to do business. The old paradigm was all about hard hustle, icky sales tactics, and pushing ourselves to always work hard.

But when we step into our divine feminine, we get things done from a gentler place. We have better life-work balance and life-work integration. We approach our businesses with a sense of being here to nurture and serve.

This has been really key for me in developing my business.

Tune into your sacral chakra by closing your eyes and placing your hands on your lower abdomen, below your belly button. Focus on the colour orange as you concentrate your attention on this area, breathing deeply.

Repeat three times, “I am connected to my divine feminine.”

3. The Solar Plexus Chakra

Our next chakra is the solar plexus chakra, which is located just above the belly button. In business, this is our energy centre. It is all about taking action and getting things done.

Balancing this chakra gives you the energy and drive you need to get out there and achieve your goals. But we can still do this in a very conscious and soulful way.

Take the grounded energy of the root chakra and the feminine flow of the sacral chakra with you as you harness the power of the solar plexus chakra to take action within your business.

Working with the solar plexus chakra is also great for helping us tune into our gut instinct. So, if you’re trying to make a business decision, bring your attention to this area and ask your question. Listen to your gut response and use it to guide you.

To start bringing this chakra into alignment, place your hands above your belly button and breathe deeply. Visualise a little ball of glowing yellow energy bathing this area and repeat the affirmation, “I can” three times.

4. The Heart Chakra

This is one of my favourite chakras to work with. Found in the centre of your chest, it is associated with the colour green.

In business, tuning into our heart chakras allows us to do everything from a place of love and passion. When we genuinely love what we do, it shines through everything and makes a noticeable difference to our clients/customers, and in our day-to-day life.

Tune into this chakra by visualising a beautiful green light glowing over your chest. Use the affirmation, “I am loved” and repeat it three times.

As you focus on this chakra, ask, “What do I really love? How can I help the world? How can I be of service? What do I want to spend my days doing?” Listen to the answers.

If you’re falling out of love with what you do, working with the heart chakra may help you discover that passion again. Or it might help you find how you can pivot your work towards something that genuinely does light you up.

5. The Throat Chakra

Found at the base of your neck, the throat chakra is all about speaking up and saying to ourselves and others what we want from our businesses and our work.

When this chakra is in balance, we feel confident and empowered to show up on video, on audio, or in front of an audience. The more we work with this chakra, the more we can get our message across succinctly and successfully.

Many of us struggle with blockages in the throat chakra, especially if we’ve been taught not to speak our truth or if we worry that speaking out will lead to trouble or confrontation.

But when we release those blocks, we can share our message in a way that will be well-received by other people. We have the confidence to speak in a way that is authentic and aligns with our soul purpose.

Close your eyes and visualise a blue light bathing your throat chakra. Repeat three times, “I can speak my truth”.

6. The Third Eye Chakra

This chakra is all about connecting to your intuition. I’m a huge believer in the power of intuition to guide us in business and it is something I teach a lot in my Be Your Own Brand course.

Yes, I also teach plenty of business strategies throughout the ten sessions. But a big focus of the course is helping you to connect to your intuition. You have the answers inside you. Learning to listen to that little voice will help you unlock them.

Bring your attention to the third eye, which is found between your eyebrows. Place an index finger on the acupressure point here to start stimulating the chakra. Visualise a purple light. Repeat the affirmation, “I listen to my intuition” three times.

Ask yourself, “What do I need? What do I want? How am I going to be successful? How am I going to make money?”

Trust your intuition to guide you. The answers are within you.

7. The Crown Chakra

Our final chakra is the crown chakra. Located at the very top of your head, this chakra is about being connected to our higher selves.

The crown chakra is also about our connection to a higher power, whatever this means to you. Some people might think of God, Allah, Brahman, or Buddha. Others might think of the universe, angels, spirit guides, or the collective consciousness.

There’s no right or wrong here and you don’t need to be religious.

Having that connection to something deeper and higher than yourself, as well as to your own highest self, really helps to remind you that everything is OK. Everything is perfect, everything is going as it is meant to.

When we trust that things really are OK, it helps us within our businesses and our working lives. We all know that every business has its ups and downs. But when we’re connected to this higher power, we trust that it's all working out in the way it should.

It gives us the confidence and reassurance to keep building our businesses in a way that aligns with our deep soul purpose.

Tune into the crown chakra by closing your eyes and visualising a bright, white light shining on the crown of your head. Feel this energy connecting you to your higher power. Remember, the chakras are energy wheels – the energy goes out from you to your higher power and also comes back down through your head and into your body.

Repeat three times, “I am connected.”
